As you may all know, fall has been here for a while. Growing up in New England and having been around for 19 years has made me love Fall even more. New Englanders, in my opinion, have the best of each season!! It may be late to start thinking about Fall wear, but it’s never too late to know what you need. So in this post, I will chatting it up and discussing the Must Haves of Fall Fashions. Lets get started!

Dark washed jeans. Looks great with everything, I must say. I prefer skinny jeans since the top portion of fall clothing is layers. You do not want to look frumpy while wearing your Fall gear, do you? And dark washed jeans are far more flattering than those dreadful light washed jeans with the pre-ripped details. I am just saying!

Sweaters. Fair Isle, reindeer/animal, cable knit, cashmere, turtlenecks, and a select few of cardigans. The more annoying the pattern, the more you look great! I am talking about the whole Navajo styles! Tennis style ( V- neck) and Irish Fishermen is fab too! You can add a nice sweater with a crispy dark washed jean and your good, oh, and don’t forget the shoes (you know that has to be coming up!)The chunkier the knit is, the warmer you are. No, not those awful Christmas sweaters, we are still talking about fall here! Oh, and I do not see what the fuss is with those Awful Christmas Sweater parties, although they do seem intriguing. I do have a favorite holiday picture of myself and my sister, and we look great in our sweaters, but they are not horrible compared to everyone else’s. I just going to leave it as I am glad our parents did not torture us with ugly clothing. (Had to add a rant about Christmas sweaters…I know you lovers are out there!)

Boots. Tall leather boots-brown/chestnut is my personal fave. Think about equestrian/riding style. Uggs ( don’t hate just make sure you roll down your tall chestnut Uggs down you get away with it!) Flats on muted/nature colors, Sperry( I just had to add that for myself), and rainboots( mine have whales, but in the market/mood for some Hunters).

Jackets. Patagonia( in the market for the hunter green one), Northface ( have one, that is why I am in the market for the hunter green jacket, Herringbone blazer, Burberry trench/quilted anything ( dislike purple, but love the plum color). I like the Burberry short trench I think the long one would look silly on me since I am 5’2” and just be awk on). Lets not foget the puffer vests! And color would do. Make sure it is not colorful or crazy patterned-or not patterned at all. Oh, and faux fur! Make sure its is a solid color, not a crazy cheetah print. You’re not Serena Van der Woodsen.

Colors. Hunter green, maroon, cream, navy, orange ( pumpkin)and brown. There is no need to have bright colors in the Fall. You need to blend in with nature. Who does not want to look like a leaf?

Patterns. Fair Isle, plaid/flannel( mostly for guys), argyle, solid, and animals.

Accessories. Burberry scarf, knitted scarfs in colors above, and bows/headbands in the colors above.

Nail color. Brown, gold, deep green, deep red, teal, cream maybe and pumpkin. Mute is the word. I should not be talking since as of right now, I am wearing Essie Turquoise and Chaos which is a summer minty/sea foam green color.

I recommend you think about pumpkin latte’s at Starbucks, learn how to knit, drink apple cider, read by the fire, toast pumpkin seeds after you get your freshly painted nails a bath in pumpkin guts, and prance around in your Fall gear.

Stay preppy and do not fall out of Fall before Winter,

Chadsey

(And yes, I like to capitalize seasons!) ( I will posting a bunch of photos of what I was talking about!)

Facts 3-5

3. My favorite colors are: Lavender, all blues (especially navy, teal, and seafoam), all greens, silver, and charcoal.

4. I love cardigans and jackets! I will find a picture of my stash when I go home since I have no clothes here anymore!

5. I have 4 cats, and 3 dogs! My cat is Willow and I love her to death! She is a tortoiseshell and she was actually thrown out the window of a car by her previous owners! She chased bunnies until a kind couple brought her to the shelter! Her favorite things to do are prance, nap, purr, and anything to do with water. Yup, she has a deep obsession with water. I should be concerned, but it’s just so cute! He will whine and purr until someone turns the water faucet on. Now, why is she named Willow? Well, she was actually the shelters’ star pet that week and I was getting over the loss of my dear kitty, Scooter. So I was so amazed at how adorable this cat was! And I think it was the time around election time, and Willow’s name was around. But really, I love Willow Tree Chicken salad, and Willow trees, so that why I named her that. Turns out, she is like a Willow tree since she loves her water. Like Mommy with her Diet Cokes. Ok, I am not a crazy cat lady; I just like talking about my cat. Maybe I should have a cat blog instead of a fashion blog… hmmm… JUST KIDDING! I will post pics!

Each day, I will post another few facts about me!

1. I love reading! Whether it be a magazine, a cereal box, or a text-book: well, that’s pushing it a little bit., I will be more than happy to read it. I was that kid in class that whenever there was a reading assignment, I would cheer and do epic fists pumps. Legit, I love to read. I really do not think I have ever said I hated a book before. Either that or I have no standards in reading materials. Some of my favorite books include The Great Gatsby, A Catcher in the Rye, Of Mice and Men, Gossip Girl, Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse, The Official Preppy Handbook, True Prep, amongst countless others. When I start a book, I cannot stop reading it. It’s crazy because if I don’t finish it that day, I tend not to read it the next day. Not sure why, but I know that’s what happens!

2. My dream job(s) are as follows: interior designer, boutique owner, photographer, wedding/event planner, creative writing professor, travel journalist, a style/humor columnist, an author, stylists, set/wardrobe director, an actress, a director and film critic. If one fails, I have many backups!

So, I know this will not be my real post, but I am justing going to post this later. I do not really feel like keeping this in my drafting box, so here you go! What I will be discussing will be the classy and preppy bikes that I know I am not the only one who yearns for. These bikes will make you switch from your Jeep to chic bikes! Be prepared! 🙂

OK! Here is my post! I do not feel like deleting what is above, so I am not!

Here is the beloved Lilly Pulitzer bike I am so in love with. Unless you have this Jeep you will want to sell your car and become eco-friendly! I would even ditch Gloria, my dear car. But I honestly could not get my self to do that. So I wouldn’t. I wish I could find them in bike shops, but I highly doubt they would sell this. You could order it online. If anyone is wondering, the price really is not all that bad, for being a designer bike. It goes for $450, but the green and pink one is not available, but if you email them, maybe you could try.And as for right now, the blue one is unavailable too. Oh well! Good thing I found more fun bikes for you and your Jack Rogers will love!

kate spade is another preppy icon to take the hint for Lilly that prepsters love bikes and they love colors. Here is kate’s new bike.  This bike is also buying worthy, making it about $1,100…which is more than the Lilly, but still. This bike is designed by the legendary bike company, Adeline Adeline (http://www.adelineadeline.com/katespade.html) These bike is so pretty, as well. To be honest, I could see myself riding around town with wither of these bikes. But this green is so gosh darn preppy, happy, and pretty.

Now, for all you chic and classy preps, and do not want to be bright, which is odd for a prep, but still want to be stylish, try the Chanel bike. In Paris, most of the citizens ride around on bikes, Vespas, motorcycles, or small cars, so I am not all that surprised that Chanel came with the idea for a bike. What some people may not know, is that Chanel has these whole sports category, so I would love to get a Chanel boccee set, that would be amazing. Bt anyway, lets get back to the vehicle of choice: the bike.   If the kate spade bike was #1,100, I am afraid to see how much this haute couture bike is,so I do not ave a price. What is nice about this bike, not just because its my favorite designer and one of my fave outdoor activities, is the bag! Not much else to say about this, but I do want to pose a question. 1. Which bike would you choose and why? 2. Would you buy any of these bike and are they worth the money? 🙂

I found this in my notebook, and I guess it was to be posted on that day, but I forgot! So here it is. I was in FAPA:

Why am I so interested in fashion? Okay, I was just thinking about this while I was waiting in FAPA for everyone to finish their quizzes, since I was late for my actual class ( we are allowed to go the next class if we miss it), although I did still go to class. Being the motivated and school loving student that I am, I decided to stay for the rest of the following class so I could get a leg up by my next class the. So, I am writing this down in my notebook so I have something to do. I love seeing how many words I can write on something that originally was just a thought and then capture it to produce. WAIT! Hand cramp! ( I actually did write that down!) Okay, that was somewhat painful! I was digging my nails into the palm of my hand! Oh whatever! Back to the question: Why am I  so interested in fashion? I really am not sure. I am not the type that goes: fashion is my life although it is. I may have times where I break down and say that I cannot dress well. I mean, I have good, classy taste, for the most part, as least that is what I would like. I have been told countless, countless times in high school that I was fashionable. Well, I mean, people did not go up to me and say: Chadsey, you are so fashionable! That would be awesome, though. I think my clothing is fun. I have never worn an outfit without some sort of quirky, fun thing. My great friend states that although I wear a lot of gray things, I am fun! I love color, so I usually buy a white, cream, or gray top and wear a fun, colorful cardigan or a fun headband!  It would be a shock is someone called me a boring person, or worse…a boring dresser! GASP! Speaking of my great friend, she is often the one saying how much she loves my style. So I guess that is all. (Once again…)I think I wear some gray to make whatever color I am wearing pop. There will never be a day where I lack interest, even when I am wearing a college hoody, I always make sure that I am wearing something fun and unique. Thats why I love bright-colored tights! When in middle school, I was wearing that whole generic logos. Hollister mostly. Although I was interested in fashion then, I still wanted to be like everyone else. Then I believe sophomore year as I would usually complement my friend on a generic, but cute, Hollister t-shirt, it just made me think how boring that is. I don’t want to wear something 20 other girls in my school wear. I don’t want to be boring, I want to branch out. I would love to think I am a fashionable member of society. I think, personally, my style is classic/quirky/fun/preppy and in general: unique. Of course I don’t shop at one of a kind shops, but I mix and match things from different places, at different times. It shows my personally! 🙂

CONTEST AND GIVE-AWAY!

Hello, all! During FAPA I had a great idea! My logo is a sailboat, as you can tell! As I was taking notes in class, I started to draw sailboats. Mind you, I am not the best artist in the world, so I made sure that my details of it seemed better than the lack of the shape of the sail. What I am trying to say is that it hit me like an iceberg. I want to have a contest to see who can create, using the same simple sailboat logo I have, and send it to me! I would love if it was my colors, or things about the blog, but anything will do! I would love to have them sent to me, via email/Twitter/FB, or whatever! You can use any kind of materials. All you need to do is send a pic of it me! If you really want to, which I would totally j’adore, would have it mailed to me! Yes! I love getting mail! And why I chose the winner, I will blog about you, and if you have a blog, maybe we could do a special blog post together! It will so much fun! And the Give-away would be my sailboat! No worries, I am not drawing it so it will be very magical looking! I am very creative when it comes to coloring! Not sure if my picture will be sent to the winner, or to someone else, but please, PLEASE, participate!! 🙂 Here is the link to the sailboat! http://parenting.leehansen.com/downloads/coloring/summer/sailboat.htm Thank you so much! If you have any questions, just comment or find me! 🙂 Oh, and as far as I know it, there has yet to be a deadline, so take your time! That is all! And please spread the word through Twitter and your blog! Thank you, again! 🙂

I took this last summer, I believe the day of my last day of Barrington High School! I took this probably because I like lifesavers, not only the gummy treat! I like the textures, which contrast each other. The red rubber floaty with the rough concrete ledge. I love how the ropes look intertwined with all of  the textures, which in fact they are. I also like how the ropes look like they are in the water, which they are not.

True Prep :)But then again, True Prep is not really a book that you read and analyze and discuss after. I love and enjoy all books, but with this question, I just keep on thinking about The Catcher in the Rye. I read this book awhile back, and enjoyed the adventures of the young boy. What I have heard from the critics of this book, aka my friends and family, some didn’t find the book all that alluring, or even worthy of the honor of being apart of the True Prep/The Official Preppy Handbook‘s prep book list. That’s a whole mouthful, or should I say wordfull, HEHE! Maybe it is because of the hype that I like it. I also like the title, and the cover, which I guess may have something to do with my personality, but any-who! On my bookshelf in school. which my parents thought I should bring my whole library amount books to college with me, I, in all honesty, picked the ones that looks the best on the shelf. Yes, I totally can admit that I like when books look good on the shelf. So, yea… Oh! I have a picture of my shelf! Enjoy! 🙂 I am missing some of the other really good-looking books, I know! But they are at home!

I will take a much more snazzy-er pic later! 🙂

Last night, the Glee kids got crazy! But what was the show’s highlight for me? Rachel‘s headband song! I only wish that song was included on the episode’s soundtrack! It was too funny! Rachel writes a song about headbands because that is what she knows the best! Which I think is great! I just love Rachel’s outfits! They are childish, yet so cute at the same time! Like last episode, last week! When Brittney is forced to buy clothes similar to Rachel’s so the trend would catch on! I just loved it! 🙂
